High End Oversized Nightstand
One of a kind French Provincial Henredon nightstand or storage cabinet with intricate gold caning and custom details.
I could not resist the curves, the accents, and the unique design of this gorgeous little cabinet.
Featuring one drawer and ample storage space, this piece is ideal as an oversized nightstand or bedside table.
I wanted to let the natural beauty of this piece shine so I used a soft neutral paint wash to allow the beautiful details to shine. I added a dark glaze to add dimension and depth, and finished with a smooth, satin top coat for protection.
The original hardware was removed by the previous owner, so I added some vintage hardware and finished it in matte gold to coordinated with the caning on the doors.
I carefully inspect my furniture to make sure there is no major damage, however there are sometimes minor imperfections in the wood that are not visible. I only purchase furniture that I would keep in my own home (sometimes I do!) and I refinish each piece with precision and care. Keep in mind, refurbished furniture is not the same thing as new furniture from a furniture store. I consider it a statement piece or sometimes even a work of art! Most furniture that is made today is cheap, and mass produced, and almost never real wood. The pieces I choose to restore are always high quality, solid wood, vintage or antique pieces that will last another lifetime (if properly cared for.)
